Ms. luciana muraira - Piano

Ms. Luciana Muraira began her piano studies at the age of five under the guidance of one of the pioneers of the Suzuki Method in Mexico. In 2008, at only eight years old, she won her first piano competition, marking the beginning of a distinguished musical journey.

She pursued formal training at the School of Music and Dance of Monterrey, where she studied with internationally acclaimed Uzbek pianist Nargiza Kamilova. In 2017, Luciana commenced her Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Fine Arts in Colima, studying under the pianists of Duo Petrof—Anatoly Zatín and Vlada Vassilieva. In 2019, she continued her academic journey at Indiana Wesleyan University under the tutelage of Dr. Phoenix Park-Kim. Beyond her university training, Luciana has enriched her education through participation in renowned music festivals and academies, including: International Piano Festival and Masterclass, Monterrey, Mexico (2013), Tequila Festival and Academy of Music, Jalisco, Mexico (2015, 2016), Semper Music International Festival, Schlern, Italy (2015, 2016) and Petroffest International Piano Festival, Hradec Králové, Czech Republic (2018).

She has performed in masterclasses with notable artists such as Cyprien Katsaris, Yunjie Chen, Tatiana Gerasimova, Alexei Sokolov, Ksenia Nosikova, Oksana Yablonskaya, Sofia Gulyak, Luca Chiantore, Eva Maria Zuk, David Rodríguez, and Jorge Federico Osorio.

Luciana has distinguished herself in numerous national and international competitions, including: 1st Prize, Cuervo-Petrof International Piano Competition (2018), 2nd Prize, Carmel Klavier International Piano Competition (2017), 3rd Prize, Fifth National Piano Competition “Claudio Herrera” (2017), and multiple 1st Prizes at Parnassos National Piano Competition in various age categories. Luciana was also winner of the ESMDM Scholarship for International Summer Festival, a scholarship recipient to attend Indiana Wesleyan University, and a winner of the Indiana Wesleyan University Concerto Competition (2019).

In 2021, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in music from the Universidad de Colima. She continued her graduate studies at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where she studied with Andrey Ponochevny and completed her Master’s degree in Piano Performance in 2025.

Luciana has performed in prominent venues across Mexico — including Monterrey, Mexico City, Colima, and Jalisco — as well as in the United States, Italy, and the Czech Republic. She made her orchestral debut with the Marina Philharmonic at the National Conservatory in Mexico City. Recent engagements include a guest artist performance at the Haus Der Musik Ajijic Piano Festival in Jalisco (2022) as well as participation in the Art of the Piano Festival in Cincinnati, organized by Awadagin Pratt.
