While
at TCU, Mrs. Peņa
acquired
an impressive amount of teaching
experience.
She taught private
students,
from preschool age to adult, through the TCU Music Preparatory Division. Additionally,
she taught Group Piano for
beginning adults and Class Piano. Mrs. Peņa
is
also a certified Early Childhood music teacher. From
2005 to 2008, she was a staff member at
the Waco Piano Center where she taught Group and Private piano lessons. Mrs. Peņa
is
passionate about helping each student find his/her own
joy in music and working to develop them not only as musicians but as
growing
individuals.
She continues to be
very
active in the professional music associations; she has been very active
in
professional music associations; in 2010 she was a member of a panel
that
presented at the Music Teachers National Association Conference in
Albuquerque;
she also participated in a presentation with Dr. Robert Duke at the
National
Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy. She
is
a member of CMTA,
the Texas
Music Teachers
Association
(TMTA), and the Music
Teachers National
Association
(MTNA). Mrs. Peņa
joined the piano
faculty
at Coppell Conservatory in the summer
of 2010, teaching Private Piano as well as Musicianship and Music
Theory.
Her insight and commitment to the students’ musical education
echo the
principles of the Coppell Conservatory, and make her a model
educator for
piano students of all ages and levels. Her proven dedication
to teaching
ensures that each student receives instruction and guidance
that are
tailored to their individual levels, needs, and strengths. Home
