Ms. Lauren K. Harder is originally from Buffalo, New York. She began her collegiate music studies at Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, Virginia under Dr. Ray Luck and completed her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance with an emphasis in Piano Pedagogy at the University of Texas at Austin under Dr. Betty Mallard. Ms. Harder received her Master of Music degree in Piano Performance at Miami University where she studied under Dr. Siok Lian Tan. Ms. Harder has maintained an active interest in piano pedagogy, pursuing both coursework and independent studies with Sophia Gilmson while at the University of Texas at Austin, as well as graduate coursework with Dr. Siok Lian Tan at Miami University. She is an active member of Music Teachers National Association and became a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music in December, 2008. She has pursued diverse settings in which to teach, including summer arts camps, university pedagogy programs, extra-curricular programs at a private school, and both private lessons and early childhood classes at a community music school. Most recently, she has taught functional class piano to undergraduate music majors as a graduate assistant at Miami University. Ms. Harder
joined the piano faculty
at Coppell
Conservatory in the
summer of
2009,
teaching Private Piano as well as Musicianship and Music
Theory. Her patience and caring
for her students reflect the principles of the Coppell
Conservatory, and make her an ideal educator for piano
students of all ages and levels. Her
dedication to teaching ensures that each student receives
instruction and guidance that are tailored to their individual levels,
needs,
